As we are in the midst of a global pandemic, people’s movements and organizations around the world are faced with the question of building a coordinated global response. What does it mean to build working class internationalism today?

In this installment, we will focus on the front of struggle for the environment and environmental justice.  We know too well that global capitalism and imperialism rely on extractivism, and disregarding the warnings of science, continue to put the future of the planet at risk for profit gains.  The organizations that make up the International People’s Assembly affirm that “imperialism is putting the future of life on the planet at risk, with its militaristic policies of intervention and aggression and of catastrophic environmental degradation.”

Even during a global pandemic, US empire and its imperialist collaborators push forward with aggressive destruction of the environment, within US borders and internationally- but not without resistance! How can we strengthen our defense of the planet? How do people’s movements around the world push back against imperialism? This week we will  hear from working class movements from the US and internationally  that stand strong in defense of life on earth and that fight for the future of all.

We will discuss this and more with Tina Landis and Silvia RibeiroInterpretación en español estará disponible.
