This Teaching Palestine open classroom commemorates Black August. On August 21, 1971, Black Panther George Jackson was assassinated by the US in his prison cell. On August 29, 1987, Palestinian cartoonist Naji Al-Ali was martyred by the Israeli State. An intergenerational conversation between senior and emerging voices, this roundtable will discuss the connections, intersections, and solidarities between the Black and Palestinian liberation movements.
