Christopher Nizza is a New York City born, bred and based filmmaker and editor whose Emmy Award-winning work includes documentaries, commercials and music videos. His feature-length documentary film DEAR MANDELA won the Grand Jury Prize at the Brooklyn Film Festival & the Golden Butterfly at the Movies That Matter Festival in The Hague. The film has screened in over 40 countries & been translated into 12 languages. Along with other filmmakers and activists he also helped launch and run the Media College of the University of the Poor, a group that produced media projects together with grassroots organizations and conducted educational programs centered on storytelling and media literacy.

The centerpiece of this 2nd session is a sneak preview screening of the 30-minute documentary film Empire State Rumblings. We will have the filmmakers and some activists involved in this organizing present for discussion after the film. The focus will be on how the filmmakers and activists collaborated around the project.
