Duration: 4 sessions. Saturdays, 2-3:30pm, from October 6 to October 27. 

The aim of the workshop is to help children (ages: 8-10 years old) work collectively to create stories that empower and celebrate people of different backgrounds. We will encourage children of all abilities to use their own ideas, knowledge and creativity to tell stories that they want to read and write that will be based on a social justice theme. The workshop will go through the basics of creative writing, illustrating and the importance of representation in art. The final draft will be digitized by artist and instructor Gammy Alvarez.
