The Communiversity Forum Podcast w/Guest, Dr. David Stovall
Engineered Conflict: School Closings, Public Housing, Law Enforcement and the Future of Black Life – the “B-SIDE”

The Communiversity Forum Podcast, produced and hosted by Dr. Richard Benson, PhD and Dr. Khalilah Ali, PhD — is a platform that generates honest dialogue while proving a platform for: artists, activists, scholars, organizers and community voices. The Communiversity Forum interrogates historical, political and social issues while creating a nexus of information, counter-cultural curricula and alternative education for diverse audiences. In short, The Communiversity Forum Podcast aims to ‘make it plain’.

This presentation will be the official launch of The Communiversity Forum (TCF) podcast. TCF will be highlighting a guest largely considered an expert of Critical Race Theory in Education, and Black Studies, Dr. David Stovall of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Stovall is no stranger to The People’s Forum and this live audience segment is the complimentary “B-Side” to his talk “Engineered Conflict:  School Closings, Public Housing, Law Enforcement and the Future of Black Life” lecture he delivered at the People’s Forum in June of 2019. This podcast segment will provide a much deeper dive into Dr. Stovall’s work to further discuss and examine: the national public schooling crisis, the corporate charter school movement, structural violence, law enforcement and evaluate the state of the nation’s marginalized populations in an ever changing America.
