This event will serve to outline the successes, lessons and legacy of the Young Lords Party, Puerto Rican Socialist Party and El Comité-MINP.  This activist panel will make presentations about Puerto Rican social justice movements in the United States followed by discussion with the audience. The panelists will share their experiences in several Puerto Rican revolutionary organizations that emerged in the U.S. in the late 1960s and in organizing campaigns to the present. How has activism advanced the rights of Puerto Ricans in the U.S.? What were the ideals, campaigns, and strategies of the 1960s movements? How has organizing for Puerto Rican rights changed since that time? What are some lessons and challenges relevant to contemporary struggles?
