Class: Introducing Marxism & National Liberation: ‘The end of history,’ the Battle of Ideas, and the recovery of ‘Slightly Stretched’ Marxism

Description: In this class, we will combat the cynical narratives that have been championed by capitalist and imperialist governments to erase our revolutionary history, divorce us from the science of Marxism, and dampen the power of oppressed people. We will recover Marxism as a living methodology and refuse to cede to the ‘end of history.’ We are convinced that we will continue to make history, because it is struggle that drives history forward!
Instructor: Vijay Prashad, a popular educator, historian, and journalist. He is the director of TriContinental: Institute for Social Research, editor at LeftWord books, and co-author of the upcoming book “On Cuba.”
