AlgarabĂa Language Co-op offers Spanish for Social Justice courses in partnership with The People’s Forum. We offer classes at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of fluency for those interested in topics related to social justice, politics, and culture.
Join us Spring 2026 for a new set of ASL Classes. These are virtual classes, facilitated by Kristen Suiter and Siena Rafter, for people of all levels in their language study journey.
In this course presented by Artists Against Apartheid & The People’s Forum, we will study the role of the artist in the movement. We will discuss the responsibility of artists to struggle against the system that exploits, alienates, and pacifies and towards building a culture that inspires, drives, and sustains our collective struggle for liberation. Art alone cannot make a revolution, but it can transform the people who will.
Português Intermediário 2 is an advanced intermediate class, designed by Natalia de Campos for The People’s Forum, with a focus on deepening listening, speaking and developing communication skills in Portuguese in a conversational style, without translating into one’s native language, to allow you to have more vocabulary, composed verbal structures, and more elaborate conversations with Portuguese native speakers.
This is a fast-paced course designed for people who learned the Basic structure of Portuguese and present, past and near future of verbs tenses. You will learn other tenses, introduction to subjunctive and more complex writing

Sonnets for Survival is an art installation and poetry program created for Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The installation features clothing displays paired with survivour testimonies to challenge the harmful myth that clothing causes sexual assault.
BETWEEN NEIGHBORHOODS uses split-screen original and archival footage to trace immigration, imperialism, and globalization around the Unisphere, linking the racist authoritarian visions of Robert Moses and Donald Trump across liberal and neoliberal eras.
