In this class, we will build your vocabulary in American Sign Language (get ready to be able to sign entire conversations!) and explore Deaf American culture and history.
Level 3 will continue to develop and strengthen students' storytelling and conversational skills! Participants will continue to become more comfortable in utilizing their visual space and expressing their own thoughts and ideas through American Sign Language. This course will also feature more in depth explorations of Deaf culture and how this current administration is affecting Deaf lives across the world.
This ASL Level 2 course is designed to continue your skill development in expressive signing.The focus of this course is to prepare students for non-verbal interaction and communication with members of the deaf community. You’ll learn useful vocabulary and you’ll be able to hold meaningful conversations about various topics. But it’s not all serious – you’ll also learn how to tell jokes, use common expressions and sayings, and relay anecdotes to your audience.

This Art Market will empower Indigenous Peoples economies, fostering self-sustainability, and strengthening cultural autonomy during the 25th session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues in NYC.
Our volunteer meeting & art build will start with a political orientation from key organizations in the Shut It Down 4 Palestine Coalition, including the Palestinian Youth Movement, the People’s Forum, and the ANSWER Coalition. We will discuss important developments in the movement for Palestine and the actions planned for the week. From there, we will divide up into groups to plan local neighborhood outreach, put the week’s goals into action, and make art and materials for upcoming actions. Before leaving, we will ask volunteers to take #ShutItDown4Palestine materials, like stickers, flyers, and posters to distribute in their neighborhoods and workplaces
