What a year! Now, more than ever, we need a place to commiserate and strategize as feminist journalists, editors, filmmakers, and communications professionals who are dedicated to gender justice in the media.

We are delighted to announce that WAM!NYC’s Annual Gender Justice in Media Conference will be held at the People’s Forum in Hell’s Kitchen on Saturday, December 15, 2018.

Join us for a full day of engaging discussion. Some of our featured speakers include Teen Vogue Executive Editor Samhita Mukhopadhyay, Mother Jones reporter Jamilah King, Jacobin editor Alex Press, Mic columnist Serena Daniari, and 350.org Communications Head Thanu Yakupitiyage. Everyone who comes is a featured guest.

We’ll have panels on reporting and editing stories on marginalized communities; covering the labor and economics beat; the power of podcasts for storytelling; balancing reporting and activism; and international perspectives on journalism and democracy.

We’re also working on a dedicated self-care area, and a donation spot to drop off paperback books for NYC Books Through Bars. Check back for the full schedule soon.

Tickets include coffee all day long, and a raffle!
