Join us for a reading and presentation of Poverty and Prison: Frustrations of My Past with Chris “Champ” Napier.  In his debut book, Napier narrates his experiences surviving a childhood of poverty in Prichard, Alabama, serving more than a decade and a half in the corrupt prison system, and navigating the discrimination faced by former inmates once released.  Poverty and Prison is an urgent and essential account of the injustice of mass incarceration and of Napier’s incredible strength and commitment to educating others vulnerable to poverty and imprisonment.
