Freedom Summer Films is a series that aims to explore the humanity and the creativity of the many struggles against imperialism, colonialism, capitalism at home and abroad, and we hope to leave inspired for a future of liberation through community and love. We know that cultural expression is one of the most powerful forms of political education, and we hope you join us for these collective viewings!

About “We Make Film”
Set in contemporary urban India, We Make Film explores the creative journeys of three d/Deaf and disabled film/video-makers – Debopriya Ghosh, Mijo Jose and Anuja Sankhe. The film highlights the (in)accessibility of film and video technology, the barriers to film consumption and education for d/Deaf and disabled filmmakers in India, and the ways in which the protagonists articulate their creative vision.
