El Conde (2023) reimagines Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet as a vampire hiding in the countryside, using dark comedy and horror to confront the enduring legacy of his dictatorship. Pablo Larraín’s satirical film explores political violence, wealth, corruption, and impunity through a surreal portrait of one of Latin America’s most notorious rulers.
