On Fri. April 3rd, we’re excited to welcome Frontyard FM to the TPF stage for First Fridays. Frontyard FM is a grassroots music and community organization located in Brooklyn, NY since 2024. As a collective of artists, they mix live performance with DJing, spanning a range of genres including R&B, soul, reggae, hip-hop, jazz and house, with resident artists Stav, Jennora, Osiris, Jodí, Isa Tariq, Tallboy, Mick Banks, and DJ Sevenstair. Also featuring special guests Dana and Alden, and Desmond Barrett.
In this course presented by Artists Against Apartheid & The People’s Forum, we will study the role of the artist in the movement. We will discuss the responsibility of artists to struggle against the system that exploits, alienates, and pacifies and towards building a culture that inspires, drives, and sustains our collective struggle for liberation. Art alone cannot make a revolution, but it can transform the people who will.
