Humanizing Accessibility through Technical Case Studies
This talk aims to humanize the often-nebulous concept of accessibility by examining technical solutions to some of the problems faced by the blind in their constant quest to use the tools made available by modern computing as those tools change. Led by a former Googler, the talk will highlight patterns in the development of solutions that can inform a designer of a product for which there are no formal accessibility guidelines. Key to the discussion will be the real-world impact that this work has on people’s employment and livelihood.
