Summer 2026: Call for Teaching Artists

We are looking for experienced teaching artists to join our summer programming at The People’s Forum!

 

About The People’s Forum 

The People’s Forum is a space dedicated to advancing the struggles of the poor and dispossessed. Utilizing popular and political education and fostering people’s culture, TPF seeks to develop the next generation of visionaries and leaders. The People’s Forum is located in midtown Manhattan and opened in September 2018.

About The Elizabeth Catlett Art Space and Printmaking Studio:

Artists and cultural workers have always stood at the forefront of the struggle. It is foundational to the TPF mission to provide a space for our communities to explore their creativity and develop as revolutionary artists.

Proposal Details + Compensation

We are accepting proposals for two types of workshops. One submission per person. 

  1. One-day (3 hour)
  • Weekday evenings or weekend, scheduled in partnership with the instructor in July or August 2026
  • 12-20 participants
  • Located in the Elizabeth Catlett Studio at The People’s Forum (NYC)
  • Teach Artist Compensation: $200 ($50 per teaching hour + $50 preparation stipend) 
  • Teaching artists are required to attend an orientation in the studio, to be scheduled end of June or early July
  1. Two-Day (2 Sessions, 3 hours each)
  • Once a week for two weeks OR two times in one week, scheduled in partnership with the instructor in July or August 2026
  • 12-20 participants
  • Located in the Elizabeth Catlett Studio at The People’s Forum (NYC)
  • Teach Artist Compensation: $375 ($50 per hour + $75 preparation stipend) 
  • Teaching artists are required to attend an orientation in the studio, to be scheduled end of June or early July

DEADLINE: Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Last day to submit is June 1, 2026 at 11:59PM EST.
