Learn to print your own small posters and apparel in this fun and creative 5-session course. You’ll get hands-on experience with the full screen printing process, including preparing your artwork, coating and exposing your screen, working with ink, reclaiming your screen for reuse, and printing your designs onto paper and fabric.

Day 1: Overview of the full process.
Day 2: Printing on paper
Day 3: Printing on fabric
Day 4: Making screens from your own designs
Day 5: Printing your own designs

Important Notes:

• All printing supplies will be provided, including paper and 2 t-shirts per person.
• If you wish to print on or with something other than what is provided, please bring it with you.
• Bring your ideas and design references for what you might like to print – bold graphic shapes work best!
• Wear clothes that you don’t mind getting ink on.

About the teaching artist:
James is a printmaker and designer with a focus on screen printing and letterpress printing. Raised on Eastern Long Island, he went to school in Western Massachusetts, followed by a brief stint in Boston, and then returned to New York. After a decade working in corporate branding and promotional marketing, he escaped to start his own studio, and now spends most of his time pulling squeegees and setting type.
