Join us for a 4-week VIRTUAL poetry workshop with longtime poet, cultural worker, and organizer, Hector Rivera. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Saturdays, Jan 22 – Feb 12

11:30am EST/8:30am PST

Each session is 1.5 hr long.

Participants will explore forms, poetic tools, processes, as well as read works from visionary poets. There will be ample research, brainstorming, writing, and creation time. The theme of the workshop is “We Dare to Invent the Future,” based off a Thomas Sankara saying:

It took the madmen of yesterday for us to be able to act with extreme clarity today. I want to be one of those madmen. We must dare to invent the future.

At the culmination of the workshop series, participants will have completed an anthology in the autonomous publishing style known as the cartonera.
