An event every week that begins at 6:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until November 7, 2019

Thursdays, September 7- November 11, 6-9 PM

Whether you are of Filipino heritage, a student of languages, a researcher, tourist, or just someone interested in learning a new language, this class is for you. Over the course of the next few weeks, we will be experiencing the first steps into learning Pilipino. Together, we will explore what it means to learn about a language of a nation forged in the flames of an anti-colonial revolution and continues to develop as a people in an ongoing national-democratic struggle. Through this preliminary journey we hope to also learn about the Filipino people, the history of the language itself, common expressions and modes of communication, and other ways that the language comes to life in the hearts, minds, and will of Filipinos—including in diaspora.

This course is offered on a sliding scale of $150-$300 for 30 hours of instruction.
