Join Adam Johnson, Kylie Cheung, and members of the New York War Crimes Editorial Collective for a conversation about the mainstream media’s role in creating the conditions of mass death in Gaza, and the importance of movement-led journalism that challenges the Zionist newsroom status quo. Saturday, May 9 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at The People’s Forum (320 W 37th St), organized by Writers Against the War on Gaza and Pluto Press.

Copies of Adam Johnson’s new book How to Sell a Genocide will be available for purchase; all proceeds go to The Middle East Children’s Alliance. Free copies of the latest issue of the New York War Crimes will also be available.

Adam Johnson is a media analyst and co-host of the podcast Citations Needed. His writing has been featured in The NationIn These TimesThe InterceptLos Angeles Times, and San Francisco Chronicle.

Kylie Cheung is a staff reporter at the Abortion, Every Day newsletter; before that, she worked on staff at Jezebel and Salon. She has written extensively about Israel’s use of allegations of mass rape as a pretext for genocide. Cheung is the author of Survivor Injustice: State-Sanctioned Abuse, Domestic Violence and the Fight for Bodily Autonomy and Coercion: Surviving and Resisting Abortion Bans.

The New York War Crimes is a movement newspaper focused on Palestine, produced by the Writers Against the War on Gaza. There are 21 issues of the paper so far.
