March 6 @ 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The People’s Forum is proud to host an exhibition of artworks by 17 New York-based artists after their show was pulled from its previous location at UrbanGlass because of an artwork that names the current and ongoing genocide in Palestine.
In this urgent moment, it is imperative that artists & cultural workers use their practices as tools toward liberation. The power of art & culture is obvious, especially as zionist and mainstream institutions continue to censor works and artists that recognize and uplift Palestinian liberation. We must combat this blatant censorship and artists must continue to loudly make and show work that furthers the Palestinian people’s path towards liberation and against the genocide. The People’s Forum will always be a home for art & cultural work that builds on people’s movements for liberation!

“This exhibition represents a microcosm made up of artists who pursue not only glass, but paper arts, ceramic, textiles, woodworking, puppetry, metalsmithing, sound, video, and so much more.
These dedicated artists also moonlight as the core of UrbanGlass. We are the staff that work day in and day out to make sure that the classes, studios, and public programming of a small non-profit are running smoothly. Initially planned to be on view in the gallery at UrbanGlass, the decision of a group of institutional board members to remove a piece speaking about the current Palestinian genocide prompted these artists to pull their work from the exhibition in solidarity and find a new location. We would like to thank The People’s Forum for hosting the exhibition and celebrating all that this exhibition is meant to honor.”
