March 6 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

First Fridays at The People’s Forum is a monthly concert series curated and co-presented by Artists Against Apartheid, featuring artists on the cutting edge of culture whose work speaks to the political and social moment. Each show is a live, intimate, and immersive experience—a space where music & art are understood as tools in the struggle for collective liberation.

On Fri. March 6th, we’re excited to welcome deerlady to the TPF stage. Their work carries a rare depth and urgency, and it’s an honor to host artists whose sound and vision feel so essential to this moment.

Deerlady is an experimental rock band led by Odanak First Nation artist Mali Obomsawin with a rotating collective of band members. Their debut album Greatest Hits (2024) was praised by Sterogum, KEXP and NPR for its lyricism and immense soundscapes. Deerlady is at the forefront of Native sound art in rock. “Headbang while you weep” – Lars Gotrich.
