June 20 @ 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Join us every Thursday at the Paul and Eslanda Robeson Cinema at The People’s Forum, created in the spirit of their love of art, film and revolutionary culture.

In 1853, after attempting to incite an insurrection in Mexico, American William Walker declared himself the president of Nicaragua. He had not won an election, but had been asked by U.S. capitalist multimillionaire Cornelius Vanderbilt to ensure American control of the country. Walker brought 60 mercinaries to the country, and using the justification of Manifest Destiny, declared himself the president.
