At The People’s Forum, we are excited to welcome renowned Chilean filmmakers José Luis Sepúlveda and Carolina Adriazola. We will also screen their film MITÓMANA (2009).
About the filmmakers
SEPÚLVEDA/ADRIAZOLA is a Duo of filmmakers who have more than 20 years of experience working and immersing themselves in different realities of current-day Chile. They are known and praised by critics and the public for being the most daring, interesting, and controversial directors currently working in Chile. To this day they have made The Frog Fish (2007), Mythomaniac (2009), Chronicles of a committee (2014), The Sicilian (2017), and Harley Queen (2019); films that have shown in festivals like Locarno, San Sebastián, and BAFICI, among others. They’ve also had retrospectives dedicated to their films in Perú (Transcinema), Spain (Málaga Film Festival and Cineteca de Madrid) and France (Toulouse Film Festival). In addition. they are founders of the Social and Antisocial Film Festival FEISCO, that started 14 years ago with 25 versions to date. They started the first Popular Film School in Chile that has been functioning for 12 years.

Nora Díaz is an actress who’s obsessed with acting and compulsive lying. She travels through her obsessions trying her characters in reality, in the streets. Through them, she observes and listens to the conscious and unconscious inventions of Chilean society, where it is hard to tell the difference between what is the truth and what is a lie.
