Cuba Libre is a Cuban historical drama directed by Jorge Luis Sánchez. Set during the U.S. military intervention in Cuba at the end of the Spanish-American War in 1898, the film tells the story through the eyes of two young boys, Samuel and Simón, who find themselves caught in the confusing and turbulent moment when Cuba shifts from Spanish colonial rule to U.S. occupation.
