Emel Mathlouthi: Conversation & Performance w/ Majlis NY

Emel Mathlouthi is a Tunisian singer and composer known for blending Arabic folk with electronic and experimental sounds. Her music became a symbol of the Arab uprisings, especially her song Kelmti Horra (“My Word is Free”), which voiced the hopes of the Tunisian revolution. Emel’s work merges poetic resistance with innovative soundscapes, making her a powerful voice for freedom and transformation.
