Join us this Saturday from 3-5PM for the opening reception of our latest art exhibit, The Struggle for Social Change.
Social movements in the 1970’s led to the birth of many radical organizations to create social change. El Comite-MINP was one of those organizations that by 1982 was recognized as one of the leading organizations of the Puerto Rican left.
Maximo Colon joined El Comite in its early period. The political and social struggles that led to the creation of El Comite-MINP also inspired Colon to undertake documentary photography as a weapon to bring to light political resistance that he was witnessing and creating.
