Join us for an in-person book talk on Vida y Hacienda: The Life and Legacy of Dr. Pedro Albizu Campos, with author Andre Lee Muñiz and Yasmin Hernandez, which will feature a rich discussion on Pedro Albizu Campos’ internationalist approach to liberation work and the continued struggle for Puerto Rican sovereignty in the face of constant attacks on the independence movement.

Vida y Hacienda is the first biography of the renowned revolutionary leader from Puerto Rico to be written in English. It offers the general history detailed in most accounts, and includes topics not commonly featured in writing on Don Pedro, especially in the English language, such as early childhood and academic accomplishments, his military studies and training in Harvard’s R.O.T.C. program, his 1936 effort to hold a constitutional convention while also on trial for seditious conspiracy, his wife, Dr. Laura Meneses de Albizu Campos, and more.

This event will be hosted in-person and streamed on our YouTube. If attending in person, please be prepared to show proof of vaccination upon entry.
