Half-Remembered Dreams of a Third World Son is an attempt to loosely capture the author’s thoughts, feelings, and experiences as a young Filipino migrant in the US with missing home, struggling with mental health, labor exploitation, and fighting back through engagement in the class struggle. These sentiments are sometimes vivid, sometimes blurry–like half-remembered dreams. Of course, there are much happier poems of love and belonging saved for the very last chapter

Join us for a book talk with author Mike Legaspi on March 15 at 6:30 PM ET!

Mike Legaspi is a Filipino language instructor, writer, and community organizer who has been active in the Philippine national-democratic movement throughout the last decade. He began organizing militant and anti-imperialist Filipino youth with Anakbayan and later advocating for the rights and welfare of Filipino migrant workers with Migrante. His first book of poems, “Half-Remembered Dreams of a Third World Son” was just published in November and includes reflections on his life having migrated to the US in his teens
