In this class, we will build your vocabulary in American Sign Language (get ready to be able to sign entire conversations!) and explore Deaf American culture and history
The focus of this course is to prepare students for non-verbal interaction and communication with members of the deaf community. You’ll learn useful vocabulary and you’ll be able to hold meaningful conversations about various topics. But it’s not all serious – you’ll also learn how to tell jokes, use common expressions and sayings, and relay anecdotes to your audience.
Português Intermediário 1 is an intermediate class with a focus on deepening listening, speaking and developing communication skills in Portuguese in a conversational style, without translating into one’s native language, to allow you to deepen the understanding of advanced verbs tenses,
This course will give you a solid base and allow you to start communicating with Portuguese native speakers. The program will introduce grammar structures in practical ways, and some writing exercises.

Algarabía Language Co-op offers Spanish for Social Justice courses in partnership with The People’s Forum. We offer classes at the beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels of fluency for those interested in topics related to social justice, politics, and culture.

Português Intermediário 2 is an advanced intermediate class, designed by Natalia de Campos for The People’s Forum, with a focus on deepening listening, speaking and developing communication skills in Portuguese in a conversational style, without translating into one’s native language, to allow you to have more vocabulary, composed verbal structures, and more elaborate conversations with Portuguese native speakers.
This is a fast-paced course designed for people who learned the Basic structure of Portuguese and present, past and near future of verbs tenses. You will learn other tenses, introduction to subjunctive and more complex writing
Join us for an introductory course on the basics of Portuguese with a glimpse on historical and contemporary contexts of the working classes and social movements in Brazil, and other Portuguese-speaking countries.
For students who completed the Intermediate 2 course, or have previous knowledge of composed verb forms (composed subjunctive, passive voice, and more); and are ready for more advanced reading and discussions.

This course will give you a solid base and allow you to start communicating with Portuguese native speakers.
