Today, The People’s Forum took a principled stand against Trump’s witch-hunt. Through our attorneys, we formally responded to the Congressional Subpoena issued by the House Ways & Means Committee, a subpoena that is an assault on our First Amendment rights and free speech itself.

The Committee’s own words betray their purpose. Its chairman has publicly branded our work “anti-American rhetoric” and declared his intent to bring us “to justice”, language borrowed from the most repressive chapters of US history, when anyone who advocated for racial and social justice were labeled “un-American” and silenced.

Our legal response makes clear: The People’s Forum will not surrender its First Amendment rights.
