THE LABOR MOVEMENT AND PALESTINE: In the lead up to May Day, join us next Wednesday, April 24 at 6PM in the People’s Forum for a panel discussion on the connections between the labor movement and Palestine. Our guests include Mahmoud Ziadeh, Former General Secretary of the Palestinian General Federation of Independent Trade Unions; Professor Jeff Schurhke, a labor historian and professor at SUNY Empire State College; and Bhairavi Desai, the executive director of the New York Taxi Workers Alliance. We will talk about the history of labor zionism and its connection to settler violence in Palestine, as well as the internationalist currents that have historically pulsed through the labor movement in the U.S., drawing workers to the Palestinian struggle for liberation.
