Algarabía Language Co-op is offering new Arabic courses at The People’s Forum to those who are interested in learning Arabic with a focus on topics of social justice, cinema, media, and culture.
Português Intermediário 1 is an intermediate class with a focus on deepening listening, speaking and developing communication skills in Portuguese in a conversational style, without translating into one’s native language, to allow you to deepen the understanding of advanced verbs tenses,
The focus of this course is to prepare students for non-verbal interaction and communication with members of the deaf community. You’ll learn useful vocabulary and you’ll be able to hold meaningful conversations about various topics. But it’s not all serious – you’ll also learn how to tell jokes, use common expressions and sayings, and relay anecdotes to your audience.
In this class, we will build your vocabulary in American Sign Language (get ready to be able to sign entire conversations!) and explore Deaf American culture and history
This is a fast-paced course designed for people who learned the Basic structure of Portuguese and present, past and future of verbs tenses and are ready for subjunctive and more complex writing, who are fluent or native Spanish speakers and started to learn Portuguese formally, or people who grew up/spent time around Portuguese but need to perfect their grammar. It is a continuation of the course: Português Básico 2.
Português Básico 1 is a beginner’s class, designed by Natalia de Campos for The People’s Forum, with a focus on listening, speaking and developing communication skills in Portuguese from the first day, without resorting to translating into one’s native language.
For students who completed the Intermediate 2 course, or have previous knowledge of composed verb

Spanish for Social Justice courses are offered by Algarabía Language Co-op in partnership with The People’s Forum. We offer courses at the BEGINNER, INTERMEDIATE, and ADVANCED levels of fluency to those interested in topics of social justice, politics, and culture.
For students who know the basic structure of Portuguese including present/past tenses, plus Presente e Futuro do Subjuntivo, upon filling out an application and an assessment form
For continuing students of Português Básico 3 who know the basic structure of Portuguese including present/future/past tenses, and had an introduction to Presente do Subjuntivo, upon filling out an application and an assessment form
