Summer Internship Program 2026

The People’s Forum Summer 2026 Internship

The People’s Forum Summer Internship program gives students and young people the opportunity to work with and learn from the popular education, cultural space, and mobilization model developed by The People’s Forum. Interns will participate in our Revolutionary Summer School, learn from the day-to-day operations of the space, and contribute to the various programming and projects in development at The People’s Forum.

Logistics

  • Dates: The internship will run for 7 weeks, roughly from July 7–August 22, 2026
  • Hours: Interns will be expected to be present 20–25 hours per week at The People’s Forum, with specific hours fluctuating depending on programming & activities
  • Compensation: The internship at The People’s Forum is voluntary and unpaid, but TPF does provide a $500 travel stipend for interns’ use during the period of the internship

 

Opportunities & Responsibilities

The following apply to all interns regardless of track:

  • Interns will fully participate in our Revolutionary Summer School — attending each session in person, contributing to discussion, and assisting with logistical tasks during the program
  • Interns will take on a group research or program-based project over the course of the internship
  • Interns will learn from the day-to-day operations of The People’s Forum & 1804 Books and participate in the everyday working of the space

 

Internship Tracks

This summer, we’re offering two internship tracks: one that focuses on general operations, organizing, education, and culture at TPF; and another track specifically focused on TPF’s Haydée Santamaría Library.

 

TPF Education, Culture & Mobilization Intern

TPF Education, Culture & Mobilization Interns will support the day-to-day educational and cultural programming of The People’s Forum. Interns should:

  • Have an interest in popular education, community organizing, and cultural work
  • Ability to assist with event logistics and programming
  • Strong communication and collaborative work skills
  • Eagerness to contribute to group research or program projects

 

TPF Haydée Santamaría Library Intern

TPF Haydée Santamaría Library Interns will support the development and maintenance of The People’s Forum library and archival collections. Interns should have:

  • An interest or background in library science, archival studies, or related field
  • Experience with cataloguing, metadata, or archival processing
  • Familiarity with preservation standards and archival best practices
  • Interest in radical and movement history collections
