The People’s Forum Internship program gives students and young people the opportunity to work with and learn from the popular education and community space model developed by The People’s Forum. Interns will participate in our popular education programming, cultural work, learn from the day-to-day operations of the space, and contribute to the various programming and projects in development at The People’s Forum.
Logistics
Dates: The internship will run for one semester, roughly September-December and is flexible demanding on school schedules, etc.
Hours: Interns will be expected to be present 10-12 hours per week at The People’s Forum, with specific hours fluctuating depending on programming, activities, and interns’ class/work schedules.
Compensation: The internship at The People’s Forum includes a $500 stipend. The People’s Forum can assist with logistics needed to apply for institutional or university funds.
Opportunities & Responsibilities
- Interns will participate in our educational programming–attending sessions in-person, contributing to discussion, and assisting with logistical tasks during the program
Interns will learn from the day-to-day operations of The People’s Forum and participate in the everyday working of the space, including greeting visitors, shipping books, art space setup & cleanup, street mobilizations, etc.
Interns will take on a group research or program-based project over the course of the internship
