Join Sing in Solidarity for a celebration of the songs, sounds, and revolutionary spirit of La Nueva Canción, a Latin American cultural movement of the 1960’s and 70’s which blended folk musical traditions with radical left-wing political commitments. Accompanied by members of Chilean folk ensemble, A Desalambrar, the choir will sing a selection of songs by Victor Jara, Violeta Parra, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Ernesto Cavour, Quilapayún & more. Opening for the choir is Ruben Gonzalez and Handmade. All proceeds from the concert will go towards the upkeep of our all-volunteer, no audition socialist choir.
