Duration: Thursday November 15, 6-9pm

Content: If we’re serious about transforming our society, then we need to be serious about educating ourselves and our communities, and to equip ourselves with the knowledge we need to really build power. This one-day class is about popular education – an approach to teaching and learning that connects theory, experience, and practical work for social change. We’ll draw on the history, theory and practices of popular education from movements of the poor and dispossessed in the US and around the world, focusing on the political nature of popular education and approaches that are being developed out of today’s struggles for liberation.
