Based on a true story, Pride follows a group of lesbian and gay activists in London who raise money to support striking coal miners during the 1984–85 UK miners’ strike. Despite initial mistrust and cultural differences, the activists and mining communities forge an unexpected alliance rooted in solidarity, mutual support, and shared struggles against discrimination and state repression. Blending humor, warmth, and political insight, the film explores the power of collective action and demonstrates how movements can build strength across lines of identity, class, and geography.
