The spirit of Columbia has never been about the administration; it’s always been about the students. For the second year in a row, the alumni of Columbia University and Barnard College are hosting reunion events unaffiliated with Columbia University and in solidarity with student and faculty protestors. Proceeds from this screening of The Encampments will be split between to direct aid in Palestine, legal aid for students who have been harmed by Columbia and Barnard’s disciplinary repression, including those facing deportation or discrimination from DHS and ICE, and Harlem-based emergency and empowerment resources serving Columbia’s immediate neighbors.
