Please join us for an in-person event with Adrienne Buller and Mathew Lawrence on their new book, Owning the Future. Buller and Lawrence show that it is time to reclaim our common technological inheritance, arguing that the systemic change we need hinges on a new era of democratic ownership. They offer a reinvention of the firm as a vehicle for collective endeavor to meet social needs, and a digital common that uses our data for collective good in place of the oligarchy of the platform giants. Facing environmental devastation, they set a new agenda of decommodification—of both nature and needs—with a Green New Deal and collective stewardship of the planet’s natural wealth. Together, these proposals offer a road map to owning the future and building a better world.
