November 29, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This workshop is to shine a light on the (V)ITAL role nutrition plays in the food choices we make everyday. We believe nutrition education is a human right, and we are here to help. Join us as we explain how to break down food labels, examine neighborhood demographics and their relationship to available options, and how to be prepared in a society that benefits from our sickness.

Instructors: Jennifer Seda and Dexter Thomas-Payne

Jennifer Seda has been teaching Nutrition for 4 years through various city organizations like City Harvest, NYCares, Children’s Aid Society, and Teens for Food Justice. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, and Food from Lehman College in the Bronx. “My goal is to make my students feel empowered and give them the choosing power to know what they are consuming and have control over how much.”
Dexter Thomas-Payne is an actor/writer from Spanish Harlem. He is a company member of The Harlem Repertory Theater and has a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Lehman College. His main focus now is to plant the seeds of independent, self sufficient thinking in his people.
