|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Monday, repeating until July 29, 2019

Lindy Hop is a partner dance that originated in the 1920s and 30s in Harlem, NY. It blends together African traditions of social and circle dance with European partner dancing, and borrows from many other styles of dance. Creative, spontaneous, and totally improvised, this is dance you’d learn as if it were a language. Once you learn the vocabulary, you can dance with anyone like having a conversation.

In these classes we’ll cover the basics plus enough to feel confident dancing to live jazz events and socials that happen in NYC. Lessons are progressive, meaning each week will build on the last.

This class is open to beginners and experienced dancers alike.
