- Saturday, July 13th the birthday of Albert Ayler, will feature two musicians who played and recorded with him:
- Bassist Steve Tintweiss & Cellist Joel Freedman. Joel will share some cello sounds as a tribute to Albert during the course of our talk. The discussion will also include the history of the music Albert was involved in. 4pm-7pm
- Violinist Ramsey Ameen (the Cecil Taylor Unit) will join us as well, sharing his memories of the 60’s and 70’s free music revolution.

Flores writes on Latino culture while producing, promoting, and publicizing major musical events. She edited and wrote the foreword for ¡Salsa Talks! A Musical Heritage Uncovered, written by Mary Kent and can be seen in the PBS documentary: Latin Music USA; over BET’s Pasos Latinos; BRAVO’s Palladium, When Mambo was King; and the Smithsonian’s Latin jazz, La Combinación Perfecta. She sings alongside the late Tito Puente performing a composition she wrote over Edward James Olmos’s Americanos: Latino Life in the U.S. Aurora Flores is a sought after speaker conducting lecture/demonstrations at colleges, corporations, and universities nationwide with a focus on Latino unity through music and culture. She can be heard hosting radio and television programs.
