Join us for a reading and discussion for I Am Maroon: The True Story of an American Political Prisoner, the story of Russell Maroon Shoatz, a political prisoner and former Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Army member who was sentenced to death-by-incarceration in 1972, but paroled in 2021. He passed away 53 days after his release. This discussion will include hip-hop artist Nejma Nefertiti, co-writer of I Am Maroon Kanya D'Almeida, and Kempis Ghani Songster with Right to Redemption (R2R).
