This session will outline the emergence of Zionism as a reactionary, colonial movement and ideology. Participants will learn the conditions, in both Palestine and Europe, through which Zionism emerged, the political orientation and class character of the early Zionist movement, its organizational development, and the alliances it built with European imperialism and fascism.
This is a 6 session course for organizers and people who stand with the Palestinian struggle to deepen their comprehension of Zionism with the aim of expanding strengthening their engagement in the movement for Palestinian liberation.
In this session, we will study the works of two such revolutionaries, Ghassan Kanafani and Walid Daqqa, to understand the following questions: how did Zionism marshall tremendous amounts of support despite openly stating its racist and genocidal intentions in Palestine? Under what historical conditions did Zionist propaganda emerge, and how does it function? What strategies does Zionism use to undermine Palestinian resistance? Why is it important for the Palestine movement to continue to study Zionism?
This session defines the “organic link” between Zionism and US imperialism by tracing the historical origins of their combined war on the forces of Arab revolution.
This panel session will explore Zionism’s international alliances and its role in global counterrevolution, including its alignment with extreme-right, imperialist, and fascistic forces.
This session will investigate Zionist society through close examination of internal dynamics of Israel’s various religious, geographic, and ethnic settler communities and how such dynamics are exposed by Arab/Palestinian resistance projects.
This session will explore the role Zionism plays within the US as not simply support for Israel but as an extension of the logic of imperialism domestically.
