The play recounts the story of four communist agitators who successfully lead a revolution in rural China. However, along the way they have to execute a young comrade who’s lack of foresight and focus on individuality endangered the revolution. This is the opening night event of the Center for Place, Culture and politics' 2023 conference:The State: Abolitionist? Fascist? Communist? Bourgeois?
