SUMMARY:SPANISH FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE | Summer 2026
DESCRIPTION:¡Bienvenides! Welcome to Spanish for Social Justice! \n  \nAlgarabía Language Co-op is excited to announce that we are offering virtual Spanish classes this spring! \n  \nAlgarabía Language Co-op offers Spanish for Social Justice courses in partnership with The People’s Forum. We offer classes at the beginner\, intermediate\, and advanced levels of fluency for those interested in topics related to social justice\, politics\, and culture. Through weekly social justice themes and using a communicative and popular education approach\, participants will improve their Spanish skills and critically engage with various cultural productions centered around the lived experiences of working-class people of Indigenous and African descent on the continent. These courses are designed for folks at different levels of fluency in their productive (speaking\, writing) and receptive (listening and reading) skills. Special focus will be given to learning vocabulary and community organizing terminology relevant to contemporary social movements in New York City (Lenapehoking)\, one of the largest and most diverse Spanish-speaking cities in the world\, as well as the rest of Turtle Island and Abya Yala.  \n  \nTo apply\, click HERE \n  \nSUMMER 2026 COURSE SCHEDULE: \n  \nClick HERE to view the full list of classes\, schedules and descriptions. \n*Times are in Eastern Time (ET) / New York\, New York \nWEEKDAY SESSIONS: Virtual Courses (10 Weeks)  \nStart: Monday July 6th & Tuesday July 7th  \nEnd: Monday September 7th & Tuesday September 8th \nWEEKEND SESSIONS: Virtual Courses (10 Weeks)  \nStart: Saturday July 11th & Sunday July 12th \nEnd: Saturday September 12th & Sunday September 13th \n  \nIMPORTANT: \n▪ This virtual program is Open-to-All. SUMMARY:TPF is under attack. Help us fight back!
DESCRIPTION:On July 26\, 2026 Executive Director of The People’s Forum\, Manolo De Los Santos went on MS NOW to talk about the latest attacks on The People’s Forum and the fight-back to defend our first amendment rights. Watch below and make an urgently-needed donation to TPF to fight back against these latest attacks and continue our work. \n \n  \nWill you donate now to help us defend free speech and keep our doors open?\nWill you donate now to help us defend free speech and keep our doors open? \nOn July 21\, the Trump-allied House Ways and Means Committee hit The People’s Forum with a congressional subpoena\, demanding our internal communications\, records\, and finances by August 7. It comes on the heels of a State Department report smearing us and other organizations as left-wing terrorists for daring to oppose the blockade of Cuba and stand with movements for justice. \nLet’s be clear about what this is: a political witch-hunt\, straight out of the McCarthy era playbook. This attack is an attempt to silence us—and everyone like us—who has stood up for Palestine\, against ICE’s terror in our communities\, and against the U.S. blockade which is starving the Cuban people. \nWe will not be intimidated into silence\, but will fight back and defend all of our First Amendment rights in the midst of this congressional witch-hunt.  \nYou can help us fight back. Your donation today goes directly toward fighting these attacks and sustaining our work—bringing people together to organize\, educate\, and build power. \nWhen you give\, you’re not just supporting an organization on the frontlines. You’re part of the movement to defend free speech & civil liberties. \nTrump’s allies are trying to crush us\, but we’re fighting back! When we stand together\, we win. Will you stand with us? \n\n \n\n
