While representation of historically marginalized communities, in all spheres of society, is important, history teaches us that representation alone is not enough. This workshop will explore how society is organized to serve the economic system on which it stands- capitalism. How have narratives related to diversity and representation become powerful tools for the ruling class? And what can we do, from our organizations and communities, to counteract these politics and narratives and build stronger movements?
