En las últimas semanas, hemos visto levantamientos en todo el mundo contra el imperialismo estadounidense y los proyectos neoliberales. El Foro del Pueblo está convocando un diálogo y taller para compartir el análisis del contexto actual en el continente americano y el Medio Oriente. Interpretación estará disponible.
*In the last weeks, we have seen many uprisings around the world against and neoliberal projects. The People’s Forum is convening a teach-in to share analysis of the current context in the American continent and the Middle East. Interpretation will be provided.

Nieves Ayress Moreno (Chile): Activista comunitaria y ex presa política de la dictadura cívico-militar de Pinochet en Chile, fundadora de la Peña del Bronx.
*A community activist and ex-political prisoner of the civil-military dictatorship of Pinochet in Chile, founder of the Peña del Bronx.
Jana Nakhal (Líbano): investigadora y organizadora feminista de Beirut y Sour, Jana es una planificadora urbana y diseñadora que trabajó en barrios marginales y campos de refugiados con diferentes comunidades marginadas. Es miembro del comité central del partido comunista libanés. Escribe para el periódico Al-Akhbar, en las revistas Awan y Al-Adab, sobre artes, cultura, mujeres, campos de refugiados y la ciudad. Organiza visitas guiadas mensuales sobre el “Capitalismo y la ciudad”, en las que habla sobre los efectos del capitalismo en Beirut y las regiones, y destaca cuestiones de género y espacio, así como espacios exclusivos en la ciudad. Organiza a mujeres campesinas y jóvenes sobre temas de feminismo y justicia social.
*A feminist researcher and organizer from Beirut and Sour, Jana is an urban planner and designer who had worked in slums and refugee camps with different marginalized communities. She is a central committee member of the Lebanese communist party. She writes in Al-Akhbar newspaper, Awan and Al-Adab magazines, on arts, culture, women, refugee camps and the city. She organizes monthly ‘Capitalism and the city’ tours, in which she speaks about the effects of capitalism on Beirut and the regions, and highlights issues of gender and space, as well as exclusive spaces in the city. She organizes women farmers and youth on issues of feminism and social justice.
